Pallottine Mission Celebrates the Closing of the Year of Saint Joseph Proclaimed by Pope Francis

Conclusion of the Jubilee Year of Saint Joseph

December 8, 2021 marked the end of the year dedicated to Saint Joseph. Pope Francis stated that the aim of this special year is “to increase our love for this great saint, to encourage us to implore his intercession and to imitate his virtues and his zeal,”

In his letter, Pope Francis describes Saint Joseph as a beloved father, a tender and loving father, an obedient father, an accepting father; a father who is creatively courageous, a working father, a father in the shadows.

Patris corde was written with the Covid-19 pandemic in mind, which Pope Francis says, has reminded us of the importance of “ordinary” people who don’t get much recognition or time in the spotlight, but mirror Saint Joseph’s patience and humility, and play and irreplaceable role in society.

The Sisters of the Pallotti Convent came together to celebrate this remarkable day, reflecting on the past year and how it increased our appreciation and love for this great Saint.
